Describe your Project

The project i will be designing will be a sound editing an animation of a episode of Star Wars the Clone Wars Season 7. The project will be for entertainment purposes as it will present others with sounds used in the star wars franchise. My hopes of achievement will be this work to be 100% complete and that it works well with the sounds originally used for the 2 minute clip, my other hopes will be for the project to be successful and not off sounding or lacking in sound. The main function is to entertain the audience in enjoying the project when it is done.

The targeted audience will be ages 13 and above as most people who watch star wars are this age and enjoy it very much, The sound should appeal to them as it will show how the sound of the things in the clip are made and how they should think it sounds like. The Demographic of this will be the sounds heard in the 2 minute clip, the main need will be to display what sound is specifically being used for that scene and how it impacts the audience when they hear it. This project will represent the fact that the sounds in the clip will sound different but similar to what the actual sound used by the studio who created it will be like and this will make the audience theory that how was the sound created and what was the inspiration for this design of sound. The main audience for this will be viewers/readers as they will be listening and watching the clip and the sound while making their opinions on the project as they listen/watch.

The Constraints of this will be getting the sound of the Lightsaber 100% spot on as it will most likely take a few attempts to get right, time may also be another problem as it will take a bit to get the project fully done as i will have to do some different sounds of other things happening in the clip that will take some time as well. The technical equipment may not but maybe another constraint as it maybe difficult to get the right equipment for the right sound, possibly the final constraint will be the platform for the editing of these sounds as it may cause a bit of lag in the designing of the sound editing and may cause the work to go wrong. How i plan to overcome these constraints will be to try my hardest to get these done as perfect as i can, the time maybe an obstacle but i will do my best to achieve the goal in getting the project done, the equipment will possibly be the least worse problem as i am sure there will be the right equipment needed around somewhere.

The main source of the project came from clips on youtube as well as the source of the sound tutorials. Youtube is probably the best source for videos for sounds for projects as there are many videos covering what the sounds are and how they are created. This source of the clip has led me to the project because of my main love for star wars and how much i enjoy the franchise in general. 

The purpose of this research is to learn about the type of sounds used in clips of either films, Tv series and clips of games. Another purpose is to re do these sounds to see if they fit into the clip that was chosen. The Observations of this would be that monitoring the clip multiple times to get the right sound correct and to see that if the sounds are capable of being re done whether it would be the sound of the lightsaber or the blaster effects of the Mandalorians shooting at Ashoka, another sound effect to monitor would be the sound of the jet pack used by one of the night owls when arriving on the platform. This will aid me in making these sounds because it shows me that in the clip it displays the sound to me so i can re do those sounds and hopefully it will impact a good response from the audience so that it will be a success of a project.

Write Up: This was made and produced by Movavi Editor Plus 2021 as it included all the things I needed to make this as well as other types of work such as recordings or simple editing for a clip. This clip took around a week to finish as i had to pile up all the available sounds as i had to comply them to see if they would fit the work right and they did, although the sound website shown above shows most of the sounds but some in the video were actually provided by YouTube such as the sound of the crashing gunship and the Mandalorian blaster effects as I could not find any websites that were either safe or free to use them so I had to use YouTube and edit them so that it would fit the clip perfectly. The finalisation of this was done by the 10th of February and now this Write up will go up on the 21st of February as this Final piece will be the finishing product of the Clip of the star wars season 7 that lasts around 2 mins as this video was shorted by 1 minute because of editing time as the video of the clip was actually three minutes due to outro so that was shortened out to make sure that the video wasn't too long as a video that is higher will have been too long and have taken too much time to both edit and produce. This was very fun to make as Star wars was one thing that brought me to the media course as I enjoy filming and I will continue to love editing as well as placing my own sounds in videos which is very entertaining.

The reason why i chose some of these clips was because i needed to find to correct sounds for the type of scene playing like for example this was a video on Star Wars and the lightsaber sounds needed to be correct and connected to the scene that was playing and another example would be the sound of the Gunship plummeting down for a crash as i needed the direct sound of the ship as it was on its way down to the surface to explode and that needed to be on par with another sound like the pilot ejecting which was tricky to find but in the end I downloaded it of a YouTube video as i edited the clip so it was collided with the scene the sound was playing from. I felt like these sounds were correctly put in because of how bonded with the original which adds an effect that makes the sound seem like the original like for example the contact with the enemy where the lighsaber hit them and when the Jedi kicked another enemy Mandalorian. 

The way this video was edited is that i Downloaded the video on YouTube Downloader ands inserted it into the add file section on Movavi as I dragged it down to the section i was about to edit the same goes with the sound clips that were used in this video as they were shortened by simply selecting them and dragging them to whatever size i wanted them to by going to the side option of the that selected clip. Some clips were placing in the same section becasue they were the same type of sounds used in that video for example the explosions and lightsaber sounds were most used but for the lightsbaer sounds they were different for the others as they were either placed on the same place as the rest or placed on the next scene where that sound was used and the main inspiration for these sounds were from people making videos of them making sounds as this gave me inspiration to make my own as i will display links below as well as the editing of the video.

The way I found Movavi is that I had issues with finding an editing software as I only had just gotten my new PC but when doing some research into recommendations of editing software Movavi was one of the sights that caught my eye, i went on their official website and noticed they had a week trial so that was great for me as i could get the work fully edited and done, 

The main advantages of using Movavi was it gave you aa lot of free editing options like adding effects like a fade in and out, a jump cut option, free non copyrighted music and much more. Another advantage using the software was that it gave me free guidance on what tools were which and how they were used which was amazing for the work I was doing at the time. Lastly the biggest advantage was that it allowed a lot of editing options like overlaying scenes, cropping and much more.

The disadvantages of using Movavi is that when you fully finish editing a video and you do not have the full version of the software, a watermark would be placed on the front of the video which impact on your hard worked in editing, another disadvantage was the fact that some scenes you could move it would get mixed up with another scene which would make no sense when editing your video and that could effect you when making this video. Finally the last possible disadvantage of using Movavi is that some of the editing tools might not work on some of the things you are editing and sometimes your video could get corrupted if you do not use it in a matter of days and such. 

Movavi is extremely useful and i would love to use it in the future which i will be doing because of how useful and easy it is to use thanks to some tutorial videos made on Social Media most well known for these tutorial video is YouTube as it has a lot of videos that could help you edit your video to 100% completion. How i would like to get better is that i would like to know more about sounds and editing in both because they are really fascinating and how they can help someone's video improve and to do this i would have to look very hard into these types of editing and music to fully master it.
